After our first meeting, I knew that this was going to be a fun ride. Harrison was my first baby and with my family living far away I really wanted someone to share my journey with. My husband was there and helpful, but I just felt I needed more… by having Jade by my side it helped us navigate through all the information and appointments that were at times very overwhelming. She supported me to help make decisions, explain what the technical jargon meant and helped make my birthing experience what I wanted.
Jade was a support that new so much more than me, it was evident that I had so much to learn. Having Jade just a phone call away or a catch up whenever I needed it was so reassuring. Jade was not only there for me but I knew that my husband Jake would be well looked after and able to answer all his questions when it was go time! As I had decided to not go to any antenatal classes, the closer I got to my due date the more I realised how important having a Jade around was. Thank you for being on my side always, always being there when I needed you, answering all my questions and making me feel safe a secure till I met my beautiful bubba.
I first met Jade through a mothers Facebook group in our local area. I contacted her as I was interested in having a Doula at my birth and wanted some more information on what was involved. Straight away she was informative, encouraging, supportive and very easy to get along with. We met for a coffee and went over some basic paperwork and questions about my pregnancy and what I was wanting from my birth experience. From that initial contact Jade continued to be a beacon of support, answering any and all questions I had about my birth plan, symptoms and general nerves. As my due date got closer and closer we discussed our plan of action, when to call her and what I wanted her to be involved in and how to support my husband and I. I was admitted to hospital at 41 weeks with a planned induction the following day, Jade and her family had gone on a much deserved weekend away, however she cut her family time short to attend my birth arriving at the hospital around lunch time. She was on the ball with everything and her clinical knowledge and observations on my baby's fetal heart rate could have quite possible saved her life at one point. Unfortunately my birth ended with an emergency c-section, Jade helped advocate my wishes to the medical team, supporting me in my decision and supporting my husband in what became a concerning situation. Jade stayed with my husband while I was in recovery until 2.30am, making sure both baby and I were healthy and ok. I would not hesitate in recommending Jade to any parent who is looking for a Doula, her compassion; support; knowledge; comfort and friendship is unparalleled.
